Design It

Dig It
Excavation or “Dig Day” may be the most exciting day of your pool build. Watch and enjoy as the big toys dig your pool and set the forms for your future paradise.

Reinforce It
Steel and plumbing will shortly follow your Dig Day. We use the highest quality #4 1/2 inch rebar to ensure your pool is built to last. We use 2 1/2 inch schedule 40 plumbing to ensure your water flows consistently and efficiently.

Create It
The gunite phase and process is really what sets your custom Canyon Oak Pool apart from fiberglass and vinyl liners. Building with gunite on-site allows us to make your pool completely custom and provides the highest quality and longevity.

Bedazzle It
Tile and coping allows you to really see the fruits of your design choices come to life! The color and style of your selections not only start to showcase your pool, but also any features such as spas, lounge areas, and fire pits.

Plaster It
The plaster and start-up (fill) phase is the final step of your build! Your pool will stand on it’s own against the highest-end pools in any magazine due to the use of pebble finish products, which reveal the true essence of your design. Just add water!

The Gunite Difference:
All of our pools are custom built on-site to your exact specifications and tastes. We use the highest quality Gunite concrete in order to create a unique and long-lasting product that will add value to not only your home but your lifestyle. Gunite is technically a “dry mix” that is combined with water at the last second under high pressure to build and reinforce the floor and walls of your pool. At Canyon Oak Pools, we ensure that both your walls and floor have at least 9 inches of Gunite to give your pool the highest level of structural integrity. In Texas, Gunite is truly the right way to do the job.
Gunite Curing - How fast is too fast?
Exactly how many days does it take a Gunite shell to cure? The real question should be: When does my gunite shell near 4,000 PSI? That question depends on three things: The strength of your mix, the quality of your shoot, and how hydrated you keep the shell. 28 days to cure has been an industry “best practice” for years because it is the most conservative estimate of when a range of different quality gunite mixes will be near that magic number. Here at Canyon Oak Pools, we ensure that our gunite mix and shoot are of the highest quality, from the best supplier who routinely shoots test panels and cores to confirm PSI. With a high-quality mix and shoot, our gunite reaches between 70-85% of its needed 4000 psi by the end of the 7th day when hydrated properly. We plaster after the 28th day to ensure that our gunite has been given ample time to continue the curing process. In actuality, gunite (just like good ol' fashioned concrete) will continue to cure for years. Providing the highest quality shell that will truly stand the test of time is a priority of Larry’s.
